Former three division world champion Abner Mares (29-1-1, 15KOs) is hoping to face WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez or Leo Santa Cruz, who currently holds the WBC super bantamweight crown.

Mares was ill this past weekend and went forward with his scheduled fight against Arturo Santos, winning a ten round unanimous decision at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was Mares' third consecutive victory since losing by way of a first round technical knockout to Gonzalez in August of 2013.

I highly doubt it. Leo's power is overrated, all he has over Gonzalez is workrate and chin, that's about it.

Jhonny has skill, technique, he's crafty, rangy and possesses a high boxing IQ with enough power to knock a t-rex out cold.

Mares needs to avenge his loss just as much as Lazaron needs to stop sucking Rigo off. This article has nothing to do with the guy, let the man breathe Mares isn't even in his weight class and Rigo doesn't want to go up in weight unless there's stipulations.

So, if LSC is tougher than Gonzalez, why is LSC avoiding Gonzalez? LSC says he wants every top guy, but I barely hear a peep outta LSC mentioning Gonzalez by name. And Mares knows this, yet says LSC is the tougher one so it will look like he took the tougher fight when he fights LSC... all the while ducking Gonzalez. That's all this is.
