Both were boxers with fast hand, and reasonable good foot speed, both were short. Dokes was slightly small heavyweight when he started off and used his speed and fast hands to win, but was not a big puncher, niether was meldrick Taylor, both later in their careers gained weight which slowed down thair fast paced fighting styles and both never reached the level of greatness they had been predicted ot early on in their careers. As they got old their reflexes faded and they became average fighters........
... Boxing can be a tough business.......
. Taylor ended up punch drunk and broke and dokes in n jail........
... Both gave 1980's boxing fans some very good fights so give both some credit...
.....Rumour has that Dokes vs Weaver II in the desert was an excellent contest and some felt Weaver won, does anyone know how I could get a vhs copy of the bout. ..please post thanks.............
