Comments Thread For: Dib Moves Past Pedraza Talks, Pursues Miura Title Fight

Australia's Billy Dib will fight for a junior lightweight title in his next ring appearance. Whom he next faces, however, has now changed.

The former featherweight titlist will travel to Japan, where he faces reigning WBC 130 lb. titlist Takashi Miura. The bout will take place May 1 in Tokyo.

The news—which was first reported on AsianBoxing.info—reveals a surprise turn of events. Dib was previously in negotiation with Jose Pedraza for an IBF-ordered vacant title fight. The two camps had 30 days to agree to terms or else be subjected to a purse bid, which would have taken place later this month. [Click Here To Read More]

Miura KO's Dib (shocking, I know)

Miura should try for a Barthelemy unification. If he can get Dib, an unknown champion shouldn't be much more difficult.

If he wins that, Uchiyama can beat him up again

Barthelemy vacated his IBF title and moved up to 135. Miura's promoter should have made an offer to Gamboa. Miura-Gamboa would be a cracking fight.

Yeah, a fight that Miura could lose, so its out of the question. Miura has been fed a steady, healthy diet of cans for the entirity of his career, Uchiyama nonwithstanding.
Funny how I dont see Miura getting flak for 5 laughably terrible consecutive fights. He wanted another mexi-can, but I guess they ran out of street vendors and bakers so instead of facing a good ranked one, he moved on. Miura could ask for someone better but nope, these bums are his "legacy", and he seems fine with it.

Great news for Francisco Vargas who happens to fight this Thursday. Hopefully the I.B.F. orders Francisco Vargas vs. Jose Pedraza for the vacant title if Vargas wins his fight against Will Tomlinson.

The winners of Vargas vs. Pedraza and Salido vs. Martinez would be a great unification fight.

Ya you're right. Gamboa fight would be an excellent scrap. I like Miuras body work, but Gamboa is something special at weights he's actually not at a massive disadvantage at.

That would mean Uchiyama-Miura 2 would start a lineage at 130, and its a fight that is possible to be made
