Comments Thread For: Denis Boytsov Faces Iriniu Beato Costa on 3/31

Heavyweight contender Denis Boytsov will face Brazilian Iriniu Beato Costa Jr. on March 21st in Rostock on the undercard to Juergen Brahmer vs Robin Krasniqi.

Boytsov (35-1, 26) is now trained by Ulli Wegner in Berlin and behind the fine looking record is a fighter who of lately has looked less than impressive in outscoring Timur Musafarov and George Arias.

Costa (16-3) was last seen in Berlin getting stopped by David Price and has lost three of his last four.

Boytsov is too little, too slow and too lazy to become a champion. Same future as Solis.

hes got that stiff amateur pitty pat style thats his problem. If this guy was serious he'd relocate and get a pro trainer, and in maybe 3 or 4 years he'd be ready.

Dude already relocated and changed trainers last year. I think with conditioning and focus he can be a contender against the likes of Povetkin and Glazkov etc, ie guys his own size. Their may be no desire there though, like Solis, I'd say no hunger but Solis has plenty of that, just a misguided hunger.

The plan is for Boytsov to fight Manuel Charr in June, if he does okay on March 21.

Not sure who to root for here, I like both guys. Depends if Boytsov looks like shi.t though, I can't be bothered to root for a guy who mirrors the dedication of Solis. We'll have to see which Boytsov turns up against Iriniu.

if anything boytsov will get some rounds in. he hasn't looked good in recent years. I think charr will beat him easily if they fight. leapai was aggressive & was throwing punches from left field but boytsov still couldn't get out of the way. charr will pressure him from the opening bell. I think charr knocks him out. costa junior is a punching bag but boytsov is the weakest puncher he has fought recently so he might take some chances if boytsov can't hurt him. it wouldn't surprise me if boytsov has to go the distance but he should be able to open up & get some work in before a potential charr fight...
