no haymon knew molina wasn't good. that's why the fight was made. haymon also has no faith in broner's ability because if he did he would have made the matthysse fight. instead matthysse got mad that garcia/broner wouldn't fight him so he left.

Look - the deal worked for everyone.
AB got an easy win in an non title fight.
Al got AB on Network TV
Molina got $450k
The only people who got screwed were the fans.
I hate to say this, but this type of deal was only a few steps up from the Gracia / Salka type scenario.
Molina just was just living of the hype from the Lucas fight - which he lost as well.

to be fair to Molina no fighter is ever the same after going toe to toe with Lucas, take garcia for instance he hasnt fought one legit fight since. Herrera was supposed to be a tuned lol and he got beat down by a feather fisted fighter.
Molina is just damaged good, he gun shy now scared of getting KO

Do you watch boxing? Ever?
Molina hasn't looked good since he took Hank Lundy's 0, which was about twenty years ago. He has looked from bad to awful in almost every other fight. Demarco ended him in five seconds. Grandpa Soto beat his ass. Mickey Bey beat him mercilessly for 11.5 rounds of their fight and then walked into a shot.
He was never good and is very battle-worn at this point. Saying he was paid off is absurd.

the most hilarious part is that this is exactly what a fixed fight would've looked like, and people pretend like boxing lives in some sort of biosphere immune to anything like this from ever happening when deep down we all know this is by far the most corrupt sport on the planet
