that uppercut was savage. marv albert said "guerrero missed with the right cross" but somehow was blind to the big uppercut before it. it was a bomb.

yes! i was saying that after the fight. thurman would have never been able to last 3 more rounds. he was hanging on by a thread at the end. sugar ray was saying all night "true champions close the show". Guerrero closed the show. He broke Thurman mentally at the end.

Guerrero couldn't do anything in the last rounds. He punches were slower and he was visibly tired. He had to pretty much lean on Thurman just to stand up. Keith used his legs and whenever Guerrero got close, Thurman traded with him on the ropes. He wasn't mentally broke down at all.

This was nothing like Chavez-Martinez. The last round in that fight was pretty tough and suspenseful because everyone knew the moment Sergio slowed down, he was doomed. His heart was what kept him on his feet long enough to hear the bell. Guerrero wasn't anywhere close to giving Thurman any trouble. If anything, you gotta wonder how much that KD took out of Guerrero. Like Martinez, all he could show was his heart after that. After all, if that KD happened earlier in that same round, Guerrero would have been stopped for the first time.

nah it would have made guerrero load up with bombs and thurman would have probably been KO'd by a vicious counter. thurman is lucky he hurt guerrero at the end of the round.

              Best wishes for Thurman.

Ghost is a warrior,he has to fill in at 147, while Keith came in 160+.

Yes, and this is why I believe we need 15 round fights again which makes the reverse also more than plausible. If this was 15 rounds, it is possible Thurman could have tired badly and Guerrero could have worn him down. History is littered with examples of a more athletic or even a more talented fighter succumbing to pressure that for the first 3/4 of a fight was somewhat ineffective that eventually becomes more effective as energy is sapped from one, and the other fighter senses this. Whether that scenario would play out or not is conjecture but very possible. No two fights are alike so the Chavez/Martinez analogy could apply, or may not apply.

I've seen amazing energy machines of fighters totally dominate a guy for 10-11 rounds and then the bottom falls out and all the talent and athleticism come apart at the seams and then the fight moment shifts dramatically and the other, equally slowed fighter senses that and that little bit of extra comes out or he has an energy surge/reserve that is more mental than phsyical and tips the fight in his favor.

But the opposite is possible, Thurman could have had a last bit of energy or that something extra in rounds 13-15 and stopped Guerrero.

Most elements of a fight can have a double-edged sword, such as a fighter being more aggressive and turning up the heat can get him stopped because he may be more open when he is throwing, or it could take a toll on the guy being pressured who is weakened by that pressure and succumbs to it.

lmfao you can only laugh at the bitterness on here. The ******s mocking Thurman for going to war are the same ones who were mocking him when he boxed against Bundu. I hope he sticks to boxing, these s don't deserve no treats.

Keith is fine anyway, he took very little damage in this fight other than the headbutt. He punched himself out a bit after the KD, that's why he slowed down for the last 2, but Guerrero was finished as well, he didn't have anything on his punches.

There's a lot of resentment towards him for some reason. Never realised Guerrero was that popular, or maybe it's just that Thurman is now a confirmed problem for the other fighters in the division (I already thought he was tbh).

Everyone expected Thurman to box but he came out and put it on Guerrero from the opening bell, he boxed in some of the later rounds but he was still fking Guerrero up. I scored it 11-1 plus a k/d, an utter domination.

Good to hear he's healthy, was there an update then?
