Comments Thread For: Thurman vs. Guerrero: BScene Staff Predictions

Boxing returns to primetime on NBC for the first time in nearly 30 years. Al Haymon’s time-buy slots on the free TV network paved the way for the launching of “Premier Boxing Champions,” which begins Saturday evening at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In the headliner, Keith Thurman and Robert Guerrero square off in a battle that will play a pivotal role in the lucrative and talent-rich welterweight division.

Thurman (24-0, 21KOs) remains a star on the rise, but in need of a signature win. The unbeaten Floridian has thrilled crowds in his climb up the ranks, particularly in back-to-back stoppage wins over Diego Chaves and Jesus Soto Karass in a breakthrough 2013 campaign. [Click Here To Read More]

thurman decision is the likely outcome, he's gona be on his bike, ghost rolls well with punches so unlikely he gets ko'd.

You better give Thurman his credit when he wins. You been doubting him for a long time now and have picked Guerrero to win on every thread.

I dislike Guerrero but he's capable of giving Keith a very tough night. A Thurman KO win is the best outcome for the sport.

He has a big mouth and overlooks his opponents. Guys like that won't make it far. Just because Floyd beat Ghost doesn't mean that Thurman can too. It depends if he KO's Ghost, I'll give him credit for that. If he gets worked over and one of the judges has some crazy off the wall score to give him the win, I'm gonna schit all over him.

never was sold on ghost, view him as just average.
I think Truman's explosiveness will be the difference, I think he'll land something hard as Ghost tried to get inside. Ref stops fight with Robert still on his feet.

Guerrero I'm going for. I just feel Guerrero has the edge with experience in big fights and is tough enough to take a punch which is Thurman's biggest asset. If Guerrero can weather the punches of Thurman then I see him getting the UD or stopping Thurman late in the fight. Will see soon.
