Is it just twitter trash talk or did they actually contact K2/Loeffler? I don't think Lara has a word on it since he is with Haymon.

I'd like to see that fight but i honestly think Haymon will block it.

can GGGs team look for the fight?
i know it might be blocked, but i also feel that lara is not that important for haymon, if lara wins it will be great for haymon, if not is not like he loses fanbase or something, so who knows , at least make the effort...

The problem i see is that Lara has not fought at MW once and for GGG to remain in the MW unification sweepstake he doesn't want to fight someone that campaigns at a lower weightclass and has zero experience at 160. I understand your point of view and i would also like to see that fight but can you imagine that alot of other people and casual fans will say "why is he fighting a junior mw who isn't ranked at 160 at all?"

trust me , there is plenty of people here that want to see laras ass out of boxing...
and if you worry about casuals, they dont even know the rest of the MWs, cant even tell difference between weight classes..

In his Friday mailbag, Doug Fischer said it was looking like Tureano Johnson at the LA Forum for the 16th. Monroe tweeted he was out of the running b/c K2 was going with someone else.

I hate the Johnson fight based on how he looked against Gavronski & Theran, and the fact he's never beat a top 25 MW. He lacks power and movement.

I wonder about that. Lara's never been paid much for his fights relative to some of the other Haymon fighters. Jermell Charlo was going to get paid more to fight Andrade than Lara was being paid for Smith, and what Lara made vs Trout, Angulo, or Matrirosyn (avg $215k).

Al pulled Quillin out of the Korobov fight when RN took it and threatend to put it on HBO. Haymon's also spent millions to buy up air time on all the tv networks to choke out the non-Haymon promoters. I doubt he throws HBO/Golovkin a bone letting Golovkin fight Lara. Too bad, I like that fight.

                      Yeah, too open, too wild.

It'll be an action fight which will hype up Golovkin again after the 11 rounder v Murray, but I don't think we learn anything from it.
