those fights are a joke, tim at 154 is an OK fight, but rios? tim really doesnt even belong at 154

Top Rank had **** to offer him it's not a loss there, the only fight that fell through is the Mayweather fight, I don't think it happens now.

yea..his options just got more limited...now when they revisit a Canelo fight, he wont have as much leverage...not really sure if this was the best move for Cotto

This is pretty much what Arum is. I'll cheat you till you love me, b!tch! And if you don't love me I'll mention your dead father because that's what I am and what I'm about.

Bob Arum has no need for contracts anymore.... he can just ask his fighters to keep a promise. Lets see how far that gets him.

We'll see where this leaves his boxing career.

Kinda curious whether Roc Nation will actually make money from this deal...they're very unproven. Peter Rivera says their NY card lost money, and frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up losing money with Cotto.
you do know cotto isn't in his prime right? People acting like cotto is some up and coming boxer

Yeah, so why not leave them for more money? Especially in areas where you can make money outside of boxing. Rocnation lost money on a card? So you're telling me that Manny fight with Rios was a success with 300,000 buys? It was Arum looking from a hand out from a Chinese casino because he is a leech, at least Rocnation is trying to build something. Top Rank has had a chokehold on boxing forever, two of HBO's biggest stars now aren't Top Rank fighter. Kovalev and GGG are with Main Event and K2...

You're telling me HBO is going to turn down Cotto/Canelo because Arum isn't involved as Arum suggested? I don't think it's Cotto's ego that is the problem if Arum thinks he has that much pull... there's only one out of control ego.

I fail to see how he lost any leverage... He got a new promoter, he didn't lose a fight.
