Really? He's trying to be diplomatic/polite. He may have a good relationship with either of the fighters or their handlers and doesn't want to say so something to offend anyone. If you read between the lines he kinda hinted at what his pick is... I'm sure he has a much more blunt opinion of who will win that he may even share off camera behind closed doors but him making the statement publicly is of no benefit to him.

I find that unlikely though when a fight is this big there isn't much of a gray area people usually stand pretty firm on one side or the other regardless of how close the fight appears to be on paper especially when you have 6 years to make your pick.
