    Old Timers question.....

Was anyone on this site alive and of age when Ali Foreman or Ali Frazier or Hagler Herns or Lenord Herns etc etc (mega fights) were going on?? how does that compare to what is going down now with this latest mega fight??

i dunno about the 70s but i remember the buzz when hagler vs hearns and halger leonard fought..the die hard and casual fans were more buzzed about those fights. i know there are more media outlets now than before but there was more coverage by the local tv stations and papers.people were excited when they spoke about them fights, i think 5 yrs ago that excitement wouldve been there for floyd vs manny imo.the reason is because when i talk or hear people talkin about it i dont sense that excitement, they'll tune in though.

much bigger than Hagler v Hearns. Neither was ever as popular with casual fans as Leonard was.

Leonard v Hearns was probably just as anticipated but solely because Leonard was a US Olympian. I'm leaning toward this fight being bigger because Floyd is the highest earning athlete and Manny, who is also top 15, has a huge worldwide audience.
