Johnny Gant is literally the only notable name on his record during this period he was supposedly "overmatched." The rest were journeymen and clubfighters, and he couldn't distinguish himself from that lot because that's exactly the level he was.

And objectively speaking, pretty much the same level Floyd Mayweather would have been without the astute backing/matchmaking of Top Rank.

So his brother's mishandled career and overmatched run in the sport led Al to take over the sport of boxing? I suppose he's attempting to "right a wrong" by not overmatching his own fighters and keeping them on a steady diet of bums, "a la Bobbeh Hi-mon".

Hmm, interesting. Does he not realize that he is mass producing "Bobby Haymon's" himself by allowing his overprotected fighters and champions to feast on underskilled and overmatched opposition?

Perhaps his brother's career gave him the idea of exploiting journeymen as long as he's the one promoting the champion/talented fighter.

So because Haymon's brother ****** ******** we get stuck with Danny Garcia vs. Rod Salka and Leo Santa Cruz vs. Manuel Roman type fights?

That's exactly what I took away from the article.

Hayman was barely an opponent type, w/ Trampler getting him opportunities, overmatche often..barely a B fighter...no point in this article

exactly now we got to deal with so called unified champs fighting at catchweights against unranked fighters 2 divisions below.
