Comments Thread For: Coyle Confident of Pounding Gethin, Beating Campbell

Tommy Coyle says he will beat Luke Campbell MBE in a huge summer showdown – providing he can see off Martin Gethin on Saturday night (March 7) at the Hull Ice Arena, live on Sky Sports.

Coyle meets former British champion Gethin at the top of the bill, while Campbell returns to the line-up having pulled out to over the health of his father, and the pair will be under the spotlight as they aim to clash outdoors in their home city – in what Coyle says would be the largest sporting occasion the city has hosted.

Coyle is a dedicated guy and an entertainer in the ring. He's in exciting fights and the best of luck to him. The win over Katsidis seems to have really boosted Coyle mentally, but even though the shot that dropped the Aussie looked spectacular - or the effects of it did - that version of Katsidis wasn't the same hard case he used to be. He'd already rolled a good way down the hill imo. Tommy will quickly find Campbell a different proposition. If Coyle elects to box, Campbell just controls it from range. Luke's got class. If Tommy opts for war it turns out like Frampton and Avalos, Coyle storming forward and throwing but mostly missing while getting nailed again and again by power shots. Campbell wins a crowd pleaser inside six.
