Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya expects a very good fight on May 2nd, when welterweight champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao collide in a highly anticipated showdown.
De La Hoya fought both fighters and those bouts helped both Mayweather and Pacquiao become crossover superstars. De La Hoya lost a close twelve round split decision to Mayweather in 2007. He was beaten up and stopped by Pacquiao in 2008; a fight that saw De La Hoya retire afterwards.
