Lol leave it out Cotto has made a career of fighting the hardest fights without ducking nobody. Golovkin, as much of a great fighter he is, needs to be calling out people who are more of a challenge e.i. - Froch, Ward even Kessler would have been a good fight as thy both have fan fav styles aswell as German based promoters. I appreciate he has a Hard time getting big fights but let's be realistic. Cotto shouldnt be at 160. The best fights for him are at 154 so why take such a high risk at this stage of his career. Let's be honest nobody here would fight Golovkin if you were in Cotto's shoes. He's got a few fights left id say Bradley & Canelo would represent a good year in anybody's eyes.

lets put this into perspective, if Cotto vacates then the WBC belt is worth nothing to GGG, it is no longer the "lineal" title, It is nothing but a vacant world title that he wins for defeating another tomato can (Murray not with standing). GGG needs to win the title from Cotto, or the man that defeats Cotto for the WBC title to be at maximum worth. So stop praying for Cotto to vacate because its worth more in Cotto's hands.

GGG's handlers have already said they are targeting the Quillen vs. Lee winner, with expectations that if the Cotto fight did happen it would be further down the road. So relax, no one other then 6-7 fringe people on this site are making a big deal out of it. Everyone including GGG and his people understand the reality of the game, understand that the fight can grow larger, and potentially be HUGE down the road. I expect Cotto to fight two more times before fighting GGG, If Cotto is still in possession of the WBC Middleweight title.

Imagine Mayweather taking a picture wearing 50 belts after the fight. lol

Vs Tureano Johnson at MSG in June with possible future business partner RocNation? Leaves the Mayweather and Canelo option open in September while still facing a WBC ranked fighter (#5) thats not named GGG.

Everyone and their dog knows GGG is the true middleweight champ altough GGG might have to wait until 2016 to show the public on PPV.

Golovkin is not ducking Ward. Not the same situation at all. They are in different divisions and Ward hasn't fought forever. Granted, Ward will be the ultimate test for Golovkin, but that fight will happen in time. And when that time draws near, Golovkin WILL step up and face the challenge.
