every career can be nitpicked. Canelo is a mw fighing at jmw fighting against blown up ww. His only notable fight is against old mosley, who mosley said canelo doesnt even punch hard, that pacquiao punches harder, 12-zip shoutout vs floyd, a questionable and debatable victory over lara, couldn't put away a shot angulo and needed the ref to stop the fight. Again, how does canelo compare to what cotto has done in boxing?

Really? Both are popular, sell about the same PPV fighting b level fighters, but Cotto has payed his dues, is the leneal MW champ has won titles in 4 divisions. Based on his popularity and nothing else Canelo deserves a 40% share. And that's being generous.

I'm not talking about canelo,I'm talking about cotto. Canelo is an overhyped pretty boy, who's biggest win,was beating up the 147 lb josesito Lopez. I'm asking what cotto has done over the last 8 years, that earns him all this talk off "A side" and greatness, against anyone not named mayweather or pacquiao. Give me a straight answer. I just hope that it isn't "he beat Sergio Martinez" because on that night,a strong breeze would have brought him down.

He explained it for me. Cotto has done nothing significant since the Mosley win to warrant his diva A-side behavior and in my opinion does not deserve more than a 50% split of the pie when it comes to a fight with Canelo who also brings much to the table in terms of being a draw in his own right.

Canelo isn't Delvin Rodriguez or Yuri Foreman yet Cotto tried to treat him as he were at the negotiation table.

I don't think Cotto is that bad on this. IMO This fight could easily be happening in June at MSG except Canelo doesn't want to fight there because Cotto would have the home crowd and be the "star", not him.

Canelo held firm to this so Cotto asked for the bigger cut to stage the fight so Canelo can have the home crowd and be the "star". That's just tough negotiating and making someone give something up to get what they want.

I don't think Cotto deserves to be criticized for not wanting to be a part of ODH/Canelo's BS. He deserves more criticism if he does not offer the June date to GGG.
