    Garcia vs Khan

I just rewatched the fight for like the 10th time and i caught something i never seem to notice. If you go back to the 3rd round with like 40sec left in the round, a couple seconds after that you will hear someone at ringside yelling out a word over and over and no more then a couple seconds after that garcia lands a perfect shot to knock khan down. Turns out that word yelled out at ringside was someone from garcias camp I think his dad yelling "gancho! gancho!" which just happens to be the spanish word for "hook". Now for all you idiots that claim it was a lucky shot, i'm pretty sure garcia's team knew that punch was 'the punch' because garcia looked to be saving it for the perfect time to unleash it and did just that. Got the stoppage.

It wasn't a lucky shot at all. Garcia was throwing the hook frequently. It was just that Khan had evaded it up to that point.

That said, let's quash the line that Garcia 'dominated' Khan. He did nothing of the sort. Khan was outboxing him up until the first knockdown - Garcia's face was getting raked up.

it's a dead horse to say it was a lucky punch

I do think a rematch would be interesting with Khans more defensive mindset and tighter boxing these days and they would clearly work to neutralize the left hook. The speed difference was marked, a rematch would be an interesting fight

Agreed, he was looking for that shot and he knew Khan was wide open for it. People put too much weight on the fact he had his eyes close when he threw the shot. He wasn't throwing it blind he knew exactly what he was doing.

I think when a guy smashes up his opponent that badly, for that length of time in a fight that short, it's fair to say he dominated him.

It was Khans fault, Garcia was hooking all fight but he couldn't really catch Khan due to distance and straight combos. The reason he caught Khan so flush was because Khan threw an uppercut from far range leaving himself defenseless to the uppercut with his head up in the air and Garcia managed to land.

it was not a lucky punch

khan however did everything that you dont do after getting knocked down

i.e go to war and throw ur gameplan out the window

what is crazy, after that hook, khan took even bigger shots, flush and stayed on his feet...

all khan had to do was relax, clinch, move around, compose himself...

i think hunter has implemented these changes in him and many more
