I know what lineal means and good for Ward, boxing politics favor him nicely. It doesn't mean I'm supposed to know super, regular and the basic b*tch belt that the WBA has out in every division apparently. so I was wrong, I'm not worried about it anyway, Ward isn't going to fight GGG or Kovalev which is what the thread is about anyway.
Why Kovalev deserve more hype than the Triple Duck...

The lineal title has nothing to do with boxing politics. I suggest you do your homework a little more thoroughly.I know what lineal means and good for Ward, boxing politics favor him nicely. Actually NO, it isn't. Check the thread's title again, Einstein;
"Why Kovalev deserves more hype than the Triple Duck..."
Once again you've put your "genius" on display for everyone to see...Comment

I wasn't saying that politics had anything to do with him becoming lineal champ. He's lucky he's still considered a champion and hasn't been stripped was my point. Nearly everyone else after 14 months of not fighting and no fights on the radar I figure would have been stripped.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 02-26-2015, 02:05 PM.Comment

I regard Kovalev more highly and don't know why some people are more excited about Golovkin-Ward (middleweight who drops 3 lbs before the fight vs 178 pound gold medalist) than Kovalev-Ward.
I guess Golovkin just has that stalking bully style and baby face and is more of a cartoon character. Also the theoretical ability for him to fight some of the former/current 147 divas at catchweights.
He's good but Kovalev has done more, seems more versatile.Last edited by ////; 02-26-2015, 02:11 PM.Comment

The only thing Kovalev has done more of is fight Hopkins (50 years old). Other than that there isn't much of a different from GGG fighting and beating top 10 guys in Murray, Geale, Macklin, Stevens, than Kovalev beating Cleverly, Campillo, Cedric Agnew, Ismayl Sillah. Pretty similar. I'm not sure if Kovalev is more versatile or that he just couldn't KO Hopkins and had to box a bit more than usual. Under similar circumstances I'm sure Gennady could box and go for the decision win against a iron head like Hopkins.I regard Kovalev more highly and don't know why some people are more excited about Golovkin-Ward (middleweight who drops 3 lbs before the fight vs 178 pound gold medalist) than Kovalev-Ward.

GGG just needs a dance partner. Fortunately for the Krusher he got his in Bhop and now Pascal, GGG is still waiting for his.Comment

Oh boy.
I wish Cotto would man up and fight Golovkin. If you're going to be the 160 champion and stay there, and it wasn't just a one and done with Sergio, you need to fight him.
If Cotto fights anyone other than Golovkin, how is it not a duck???Comment
