Florin Cardos, fighting with an injured hand, outscored experienced Spaniard Daniel Rasilla (30-9-2) Saturday evening in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). Cardos (14-0) won the vacant WBC Mediterranian welterweight title on scores of 97-92, 98-92 and 95-93. Rasilla was a late sub for Jorge Fortea.
In the chief support, super welterweight contender Victor Lupu Puiu (20-2-2) outscored Jose Manuel Lopez Clavero (5-2-1) over six rounds and hopes to fight for a title next time out.
