Comments Thread For: McGuigan Family Tradition Continues With Frampton

SHANE MCGUIGAN entered professional boxing being called a 'daddy's boy' thanks to his famous fighting father.

Nowadays though, he is firmly out of dad Barry's intimidating shadow and instead building on the legacy of the McGuigan name as a leading trainer.

McGuigan caused a stir when he first took over in the corner of rising star Carl Frampton in 2011 at the age of just 22.

Frampton was not only two years older than his coach, but was also being mentored by McGuigan's dad Barry, the hall-of-fame icon and former world featherweight champion.
