    which fighter now...

can beat a an ATG (retired) in a fantasy match up???
    NONE!
cause there is absolutely no ****ing chance an active fighter can be better than a fighter in the past, right??
at least not until the active fighter retires.

ridiculous. people need to let go of the past.

I wouldn't put anyone in history above prime Floyd at 140 or 147.

But I wouldn't put anyone above Joe Gans at LW, either.

I think lots of modern fighters could beat fighters from the old days. Pacquiao would have no problem beating many of them. But one thing about active fighters is that their careers are not over yet. We have not really seen all they can or are going to do. It's an unfair comparison in a way.

I would pick Erik Morales over Bobby Chacon.

        Barrera over Azumah Nelson.

        Pacman over Beau Jack.

Marquez over Sandy Saddler(or a draw).

One thing about modern fighters though, is they are at a disadvantage. They never prove they can go 15 rounds. There are so many titles that everyone is a champion. Neither is good when it comes to all-time standing.

throw in the fact that the rules were a bit different as well. that old timers actually fought more than 2/3 a year.

So true. I think that's why a lot of the old-timers get more respect. How many fighters today have ever fought 10-15 times in one year? I believe they could do it but they won't and you can't blame them, but we also don't see the proof. Also, honestly. How many of these guys would have held a title had there not been so many out there to get? 8 divisions and 8 champs is gone, but the fighters who fought under those conditions are not and will likely never be. Higher standards do produce better fighters. Not to mention the amount of holding and head-butting that is allowed these days would never fly back then.
