I don't care if he only plays for 1 minute a game. This fight was way too hard to make for that bull****. If this fight gets called off because of a broken ankle or wrist, then this fight will never happen.

And people always seem to use other activities as part of their training method. I remember my friend used to say his skateboarding was part of his training for boxing. I remember that same friend also said playing basketball was good training for boxing. He quickly learned that different sports work different muscles and if you want to train for boxing, you need to do boxing.

As much of a Floyd fan I am, I also want Floyd to fight the best Pacquiao. And I think Pacquiao should train in LA. When it comes to training, Floyd's opponent's are usually playing catch up since Floyd doesn't really stop training. His weight is probably close to 147 already and rather than training to make weight, he is training to fight. So Pacquiao should take this seriously.

Check_hooks here is defending this, but after Mayweather beats him, he'll probably be the first to bring up this excuse that Pac was playing basketball. All I'm saying is, let's let there be no excuse.

Pac is a spot up shooter like Kyle Korver. No comparison

And you can get knocked out and even killed in sparring. Theres no comparison to which one is rougher. And Floyd supposedly got a broken rib in sparring before.
      mehhh....

bball is great to keep him fit between fights but he should stop when a fight is coming up.

      getting injured sparring is understandable.

getting injured pretending to be a basketball player is dumb when you have a fight coming up.

Well,I honestly don't think that this is a good idea, but he did say that he was flying over to LA on the 28th to do the 8 week camp,so if he plays one last game, and gets ****ed up,that's all on him. He's been in this sport for far too many years, and he should know what works, and doesn't work for him by now.

i think 8 week camp in LA is a big difference from his partial mindanao/manila, partial LA camps.

I don't know if it is a good idea!!! Footwork is a thing..... change direction continuously is good but jumping often is not good, it may be good for the balance though. Steve Forbes has been a sparring partner of Manny for so many fights, i really hope Forbes is one of his sparring partners because his defense is very close to the defense of Floyd. The choose of sparring partners is so important this time, c'mon MANNY c'mon.
