That's what free tv channels such as Sat.1 do for boxing in Germany.

Maybe Al Haymon's PBC series on NBC and CBS will enjoy comparable success in the US.

There's no chance of that happening for PBC. UFC on Fox usually averages slightly over 2 million per show.

Great numbers, but odd that 2/3+ of the viewers were age 50+

That's mostly the case here as far as boxing broadcasts are concerned, they usually draw especially strong numbers among middle-aged and older men in East Germany -
Klitschko fights being the exception to the rule, those are being watched by virtually every demographic, young girls and women included.
Ex.: When Wladimir fought Haye in 2011, 15.5 million viewers tuned in! (a 67% marketshare)
Only Henry Maske (and Axel Schulz vs Botha, over 18 million viewers) ever got more viewers way back in the 1990s and for his rematch with Virgil Hill in 2007.

Imagine the viewers if Mayweather-Pacquiao was on free TV in the US.

Excellent info. Wonder if the same trend will hold in the US now that they're putting boxing back on over the air networks.

and we all know people over 50 don't count as real people.
