He got hit with dozens of pull counters in both fights.
Maidana was definitely looking for that pull counter. Rewatch the fight. Floyd had to be careful with it after getting caught in the third round.

The pull counter has existed since the dawn of time
Indeed. The T-Rex was surprisingly effective with the pull counter despite its short arms.

A lot of fighters who have fought Floyd Mayweather seem to fall for it continuously but to name one who came close with success was Maidana, in the second fight, near end of Round 3. Robert Garcia definitely did study on how to counter it.

        Muhammad Ali - pull counter

        Floyd Mayweather - pull counter

        What do you think?
Why the hell are you wasting our time with this nonsense? Who the hell cares if he copied the move from Ali or his best friend in the third grade? You act as if you have solved some major crime. What the hell does this have to do with anything?

True..... it's a little known fact that the T-Rex was the one that first showed the cavemen the move. It's carved out in fine print in the same rock.

Floyd counters and gets out of the way, Ali counters and stays there so if the opponent doubles up Ali would have to use his reflexes to block or evade the punch, which is very hard at close range, Floyd's pull counter is definitley the improved version of Ali's Pull counter***65279;.

If Floyd had copied the human punching bag style from Muhammad Ali he would be in a home by now drinking through a straw, not still an undefeated champ.

Muhammad and Floyd are my 2 least favourite boxers for largely exclusive reasons but in this instance one gets the nod over the other....

Muhammad Ali was smashed from pillar to post in nearly all of his fights against bummy opposition which he outsized. He had no reflexes to speak of.

Floyd Mayweather is perhaps the most technically perfect boxer of all time and despite dodging the fights which he would probably lose (like Pac) still has among the best lb for lb resumes of all time against opponents basically the same size. He had some of the best reflexes in all of boxing ever to this point.

              Troll thread! with obvious agenda!
