What's next for Cotto is him defending his 160lb title against a career 154lber.

simple. A stay-busy fight (looking at the current WBC rankings, "Latin Snake" Sergio Mora would seem to fit the bill for a PR Day weekend fight), before playing even harder ball for the next round of Alvarez-Cotto talks, with Alvarez having the issue around the actual biggest day in Mexican boxing to worry about (Mexican Independence Day).
Cotto's not hurting for money, his star power is intact, and there are plenty of fights out there for him.Comment

I think this is a win situation for Cotto. He doesn't fight Canelo who could potentially beat him, keeping his middle weight title and.....he has the chance to fight the winner of Mayweather vs. Pac which I believe will be Mayweather. Mayweather will be established as the best of this generation and going against Cotto for another title in another division. This to me equals lots of Money for Cotto.Comment

Cotto is a smart business man and had his largest pay day vs floyd, and he knows floyd wants that belt, He probably feels at a higher weight with roach training him, he can beat Floyd. Hes gonna go for the history making opportunity, and fight floyd in NYC and add to his retirement funds. Floyd is gonna end up with the top 5 ppvs in historyComment
