Comments Thread For: R. Guerrero: If Mayweather Boxes, No Problems Winning

Ghost has some credibility here, lest we forget:
January 10, 2014:
Guerrero (31-2-1, with 18 knockouts), who has won titles at feather, super featherweight, lightweight and welterweight, tried but failed to deal Mayweather his first career loss in May last year. He used to spar with Pacquiao, and Roach thinks a fight between them could be a barnburner.
“[Robert] Guerrero has sparred with Manny many times and he thinks he gets the best of Manny. He's made that public before that he used to beat Manny up in sparring. I see it a different way, but I would love that fight and I think it's a great fight,” the bespectacled trainer explained.

EXACTLY! AND PAC HASNT HAD ANY KO POWER IN ANY OF HIS RECENT FIGHTS. WITHOUT HIS MYSTICAL POWER HE DOESNT HAVE A CHANCE, he just doesnt have the boxing ability. I know if youre a p@ctard youre supposed to ignore the obvious.Floyd walked down a bigger canelo, he's gonna take pac apart. Guerrero is saying what other boxers are saying and have said. look at this
***8220;People think Floyd***8217;s a runner, but he***8217;s not. Anytime you see a fighter give Floyd ground in the ring, you see Floyd walk them down and cut off the ring. He***8217;ll teach Manny how to proficiently cut off the ring.***8221;
***8221;Mayweather walks him down. Everyone thinks Floyd***8217;s going to run, but he***8217;s going to walk him down. That***8217;s how the fight would play out.***8221; Paulie MalignaggiComment

Understandable. However, everyone ain't Pac. And neither is Canelo. Pac is undoubtedly the best we've seen (outside of Mayweather), in a long time. So no, I'm not joking.
You guys are acting like Pac hasn't been destroying guys and out boxing them, and beating them in every facet of the game since forever (outside of Marquez.)
We've seen Mayweather outboxed IN SPOTS by guys who couldn't shine Pac's shoes.
As much as this fight seems predictable, it's easily just as unpredictable.Last edited by SeekDaGreat; 02-21-2015, 01:33 PM.Comment

Manny is not your typical flat footed, slow, plodding, come forward fighter. He has the best footwork in all of boxing, to come forward at different angles to throw his powerful combinations, and again uses his footwork to get out of harms way before he gets countered. The only guy to ever be able to deal with Manny these last 9 years is Juan Marquez. The only reason Marquez could put up a big fight is because he has an iron chin and was willing to take punches in order to land some of his own. Lets see first of all how mayweather will react to mannys power. If he feels the power, hes going to clam up and not throw any pu vhes the whole fight like de la Hoya, margarito, Rios, cotto, and others who simply couldn't handle it. Tim Bradley and Juan Marquez are the only ones who could handle the power and Marquez lost twice and Bradley got schooled twice. Floyd has a punchers chance, unfortunately Floyd is no Juan Marquez when it comes to punching power, and wouldn't risk it and go all out swinging like time Bradley did in the second fight where he was effective. Floyd will have to throw in volume to even stand a chance,and I believe he will clam up in his Philly shell rather than to engage and throw in volume to try to win.EXACTLY! Not to mention, Pac's ability to slip punches I'd very underrated.Manny is not your typical flat footed, slow, plodding, come forward fighter. So the opinions of professional boxers and trainers doesn't matter . .but our opinions as fans does?? Come on man.The opinion of these men who got to fight Pacquiao and Floyd then got dominated are worthless...
Pacquiao & Floyd (as all predicted) eased past their last opponents...excluding Pacquiao who got knocked out against his greatest Kryptonite Marquez.
If Pacquiao stands and trys to box in front of Floyd then sure Floyd is going to have it easy...that's where Floyd is strongest and will have success in this fight
However Pacquiao is going to be the one trying to set the pace will be moving around using his feet & angles forcing Floyd to reset and adjust constantly.
edit: Didn't read thought it was Robert not Ruben
change title to Ruben!Comment

Exactly. Manny has been an underdog many times before. He was an underdog to Barrera, de la Hoya, ledwaba, and many others. And not only have guys outboxes mayweather in spots, maidana and de la Hoya arguably beat Floyd, while Jose Luis Castillo clearly beat him. If the Castillo fight would have been judged correctly, Floyd wouldnt even be a favorite in this fight with pacquiao. That B.s. Protected 0 loss record has people hyptnotized. I cant wait for Manny to take mayweather down and put his career to shame.Understandable. However, everyone ain't Pac. And neither is Canelo.
