Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Pacquiao: Lomachenko in Play For Card

Now that the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight has been finalized for May 2 in Las Vegas, the next question is which fighters will appear on the undercard.

There is a possibility Vasyl Lomachenko could appear on the televised undercard, manager Egis Klimas told Boxingscene.com this past week.

"That is the plan," said Klimas, who also manages Sergey Kovalev and Evgeny Gradovich. "We want Vasyl to fight no later than May. If the fight (between Mayweather and Pacquiao) gets made, we'd like Vasyl to fight on May 2."

Waste of space. That would be a disrespect to the sport to put a guy with 3-1 on a Card like this.

This fight should have a co-main event a la Garcia-Mathysse or something like that.

And he should be. He is the next big star in the sport.

it's a good idea to showcase the next in line for the p4p throne as the old guard bow out. i do wish lomachenko would fight more frequently than just on pacquiao undercards though

Pacquiao himself was on the undercard of Tyson Lewis

nothing wrong with showcasing relatively unknown guys, Loma is that guy

Are you telling me putting a guy with two olympic gold medals and over 400 amateurs fights with only one loss shouldnt be televised on television? Just because he has 4 pro fights? Since when did the amount of fights define your skill level and attraction power? Come on, the guy is better schooled in the sweet science then 99% of all the boxers out there, all weightclasses included.

An event that big ...it needs big names as supporting cast. People won't be spending their big bucks on boxers with 3-1 record.
