Comments Thread For: Golovkin Credits Murray With Being Toughest Opponent

MARTIN MURRAY goes up against 'the new Mike Tyson' tomorrow night for the WBA middleweight title.

Champion Gennady Golovkin has earned the Iron Mike label after becoming the king of the knockout punch with 28 in 31 fights.

Brit Murray better watch out because the 32-year-old Kazakh is driven by a rage generated by personal tragedy.

Two of Golovkin's brothers died in action fighting for the Russian army.

Golovkin is one tough mf, we all know that by now (a few Ward nut huggers excluded). But how can he always be so happy, respectful and polite when he´s not in the ring? He smiles like he never had a bad day in his life and that´s what really puzzles me. What does it take to make him lose his cool and what happens when he does? Not sure I want to know, just wondering. - I hope we get to see more than three rounds this time.

This explains why he's so accustomed to taking a punch. Funny how he is so gracious/respectable and all smiles whilst he used to be a hooligan on the streets.

Because he has gone through so much in his childhood that everything is fine for him now and he's grateful and appreciating it. When you go through so much so early it makes you mature that much more.

I think people who have actually had tough lives at very different from those who just imagine they did ("badasses" and "thugs" and whatnot) while actually being protected b****.

Beware of grinning dorks from wartorn lands.

That could be it. "Just one guy, no guns? No problem, this is box!"

                  Golovkin the football hooligan?

He must have been putting people to sleep all over the place.
