The pay-per-view featuring Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in May 2 will be a collaborative effort between HBO and Showtime. That much is certain. But the marketing of the bout on the individual networks is still to be determined.
Showtime has used its “All Access” platform to build up to its biggest fights and then has presented epilogues after some of them. HBO’s “24/7” series has been part of the marketing for its biggest events for years as well. Both networks also do other video programming both on television and online to support their fights.
