In this fight, I think Floyd will actually look better than he has since the Canelo fight. I think his regimen with Ariza is going to be big help for his mobility and stamina throughout the fight. Look at Maidana's performance (with Ariza) in the first Floyd fight. He hardly got tired. Second fight (without Ariza) he gassed EARLY. Ariza gets his guys supremely conditioned and with a guy with Floyd's talent and dedication, I think it's going to pay off big on fight night.

Both fighters are still good, but just as Floyd has lost a step, Pac has as well. He's not as explosive and damaging as he once was, so we have to judge both guys on their more recent fights. Not fights from their highlight reels 5 or so years ago.

I respect this post. This is a very good breakdown. If we judge by recent fights. The last three or so, Manny has the advantage because he's fought the more versatile type opponents and always has. It's much harder to fight like Manny than Floyd. That will hurt him in this fight. Manny is smarter than ever in the ring, Floyd looks worn and bored. He's too rich now to win this fight. He'll start thinking about not getting stopped, his houses, his cars, etc. Manny wins a decision, in my opinion.

          .
Of course, even without Ariza, Manny doesn't gas... But I do think we'll say some crazy conditioned version of Floyd now, to the point where Floyd will be able(because of his new conditioning) to dictate the type of fight...It won't be as bad as Canelo-Lara(where Lara made Canelo look foolish) but I don't see a lot of "serious" exchanges happening in this fight because Floyd will master the distance.

Maidana defo got tired in that first fight by as early as the 6th. He even said he planned on coming in lighter (which he did) for the rematch to avoid getting tired.

The rematch, Maidana looked drained from the 1st round. If the attempt was to come in lighter to avoid getting tired, it failed.

Yeah it wasn't the smartest idea for sure.

I think Floyd looked worn and borned more so for the Maidana fight. I said it during the second fight, he didn't look like himself before the fight and then after he talked about the issues with his team, the promotion of the fight, etc. Go look at his ring walk, he just stares down the whole time, not the usual smile or energy you expect to see. I also think it's much harder for him to be motivated for a guy like Maidana, but for someone like Manny he'll rise to the occasion. Hence the different things he's doing in training now. But even with all the money he has, he still trains like a madman and remains disciplined to the sport. People may not like Floyd, but his work ethic is unquestionable. I think we'll see him in great shape for this fight and hope they actually bring the best out of each other.
