The result of Pacquiao-Marquez III was seen as the ***8220;Robbery of the Year***8221; by 43 percent of the fans who voted in this year***8217;s ******.com readers***8217; choice year-end award poll. Other bad decisions of 2011 that received votes included Paul Williams-Erislandy Lara (32.1 percent), Robert Helenius-Dereck Chisora (9.8), Devon Alexander-Lucas Matthysse (8.9) and Felix Sturm-Matthew Macklin (6.3).

Press row disagreed with the official verdict. In a poll of 20 ringside boxing writers conducted by Golden Boy Promotions publicist Bill Caplan, 12 thought that Marquez won the bout, seven scored it a draw, while only one had it for Pacquiao (by one point).
Retired veteran judge Chuck Giampa, who scored the bout 116-112 for Marquez, stated that ***8220;Marquez controlled the majority of rounds with effective aggression AND ring generalship,***8221; in his You Be the Judge column in the February issue of THE RING.
***8220;I believe (Harold) Lederman (HBO***8217;s unofficial judge commentator who scored the bout 116-112 for Pacquiao) and the three judges did not give Marquez enough credit for his effecive counter punching. As per the rules, a fighter should be given credit for effective aggression whether moving forward, backward, sideways, against the ropes or counter punching.***8221;
If this was a Pacquiao/Bradley type of decision then I could understand your discontent but the fight was a seesaw battle that could have easily gone to Marquez had he been more aggressive. I'm not trying to insult anyone's intelligence but I'd much rather prefer the opinion of a professional judge over some random people on a forum any day.

That really turned around on them in the end eh?

Freddie with a great gameplan

I'm definitely picking PAC to win by decision now. Was unsure before as to who would win . But that's the right gameplan. You're not gonna knock Floyd out. Have to throw punches and hope judges score you those rounds because Floyd doesn't throw much.Last edited by jas; 04-02-2015, 04:31 AM.

There isn't going to be a place for you anyway as all those other PAC dudes will have relocated and to other forums that probably will have very little to do with boxing.
