Pacquiao is a different fighter since the K.O.

He still lunges, but If you look closely, everytime he lunges, he only does it when the opponent is out of position to counter.

He's a different fighter since the Marquez fight, everything he does is measured and has a purpose, he's not the same reckless balls to the wall fighter he used to be.

Did you watch the Algeri fight? Because he was lunging while Algeri was in perfect position to counter... and counter he did. he must've got hit with the same counter that ko'd him at least 10 times by Algeri. Defensively irresponsible is how if describe him.

That's because Algieri lost his **** everytime Pacquiao feinted the left hand. Algieri wasn't looking to counter the left, he was looking to avoid it. You don't have to be as defensively responsible against someone that's fighting scared, as opposed to someone who wants to knock your head off.

I don't remember him landing many counters.

You'd have to point out the round where pac was getting destroyed by right hand counters because I don't remember any.

If it's part of your skill set you're always going to be "defensively responsible" it's not a switch you can turn on or off. You don't just say ..." I'm gonna let this guy hit me ... Who cares? He can't punch anyway". It doesn't work like that if/when you see a punch coming your natural reaction is to slip it your brain is always thinking self preservation... It's kind of like you can't knock yourself out with a punch. Your brain will always make you take something off the punch.

Nobody said pacquiao was getting destroyed by Algeri. If he didn't get destroyed in any particular round that means Algeri wasn't countering well?
The only thing Algeri can be haven credit for in that fight was the fact that he was able to time Pacquiao coming in and caught him with lead rights a bunch of time. The footage is there see for yourself I'm not going to do the legwork for you.

It's the same punch that got him in trouble with Marquez and eventually ko'd. people with good defense just don't make a habit out of doing that jumping in with their chin out in the air. PAC does it a lot but had other attributes that made up for that flaw. At this point it's just who he is... But to say his defense is great... You're kidding yourself. He's GREAT in other areas ... That isn't one of them.
