A well thought out post.
Floyd's jab will be interesting, see how it deal with the southpaw stance.
I'm sure Manny will be working on a the already excellent right hook. If Floyd is just continuously firing out that constant jab, Pacquiao will make him pay with right hook counters.
When ever Pacquiao throws the left, he has to pivot away, to stop Floyd for countering.
I really think Floyd will try and spoil in this fight as well.
Pacquiao needs to set a high pace and Floyd will tire before him, because Floyd fights a much slower pace than Pacquiao.
It's a vicious punch.Comment

What's up with this dumb illusion that Pacquiao needs to cut off the ring? Pacquiao isn't an low skilled fighter like a Marcos Maidana or Jose Luis Castillo that needed to cut off the ring to have a chance of beating Floyd. I think Manny has a great shot in the middle of the ring if he's active enough. He needs to average 90 punches a round. He has faster hands than Floyd, he has good timing, his upper body movement is beneficial in the middle of the ring as well. Saying he only has a shot if Floyd gets on the ropes is ******.Comment

You don't seem to understand that.
If a half decent fighter just want to run around the ring and survive they probably can, make for a boring spectacle of a fight but they just want to survive.
Most boxers want to win.
I wonder what category Floyd will fall into?Comment

Works for me. I don't really care if you do or don't.
I'm in one thread defending him as a better combination puncher than Floyd, while suggesting that he can't cut the ring off in this thread.
I'm not just blindly hating on Manny, the way you guys do Floyd. I just have opinions that apparently Manny fanatics can't cope with.
Before they've fought I've always felt Floyd wins pretty handily, the more I think about it the more I see Manny having a better chance than I thought. I thought it was 70/30, but now... I'm like 51/49 Floyd. The left hand is a problem and Floyd instinctively goes into the shoulder roll when he see's a punch coming. It's Floyd "flinching" like a guy on the street if you will, that's bad news for a straight left from Manny. He's going to land it and he's going to do it a lot... Floyd's legs aren't what they were and Manny is levels above Maidana in terms of conditioning, so he's going to have to slug it out at some point to get Manny off of him.
I think that's the problem for Manny because Floyd is naturally the bigger guy and I'm not sure if Manny's chin is the same. Lots of variables and it's insane to think they're actually getting in the ring with each other... WAR MANNY!!! But I still think Floyd takes the W.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 02-24-2015, 08:24 PM.Comment

How can that be the blueprint if Pacquiao has evolved as a fighter since then? He's grown as a fighter, developed a right hand, and became more disciplined. That's like saying the blueprint of beating Floyd is the 1st fight with Castillo. Besides Floyd doesn't fight anything like Morales as well as Pacquiao doesn't fight like Castillo. Looking at old fights is pointless tbh as they aren't the same fighters and neither have faced guys like what they are going up against may 2.Comment
