If you don't watch boxing on any of the two Mexican television networks (and I'm 99% sure you don't, an you never have), you would realize that TV Azteca has a much better team of boxing commentators, not to mention that their Saturday boxing events are light-years away better than those of Televisa, which sometimes they don't even have a Saturday boxing schedule at all. Bottom line, boxing wise, moving from Azteca to Televisa is generally considered a bad move, whereas doing the opposite is a good move, for exposure as a professional boxer, at least in Mexico and other Latin American countries that watch Mexican television networks.

Televisa stays winning. Televisa showed the last Mayweather fight LIVE. I simply cannot recall the last time Azteca showed a live Pacquiao fight. Not to mention TV Azteca works exclusively with Top Rank wich means they only show the sht fights they make. Good move for Julio!Comment

And you would be wrong! I've caught a couple toprank fights at night. Those are all opinions and preferences. So tell me again how parity between two networks is a bad thing? It's better for the fans. In all reality, who gives a crap about commentators? There's bad commentators on every network. So basically you're saying it's a bad move for boxing because there commentators and Televisa lack of Saturday fights?Comment

It's actually a terrible move. Televisa got their asses kicked in the ratings so much that Corona actually decided to pull their sponsorship from the network and from Promociones del Pueblo. Corona's market share actually started shrinking while Tecate on the other hand has grown immensly since they started partnering with Zanfer, Top Rank and TV Azteca. TV Azteca has made household names out of guys who aren't even from Mexico like Brandon Rios, Pacquiao, Cotto, JuanMa Lopez, Ivan Calderon, Nonito Donaire, Tim Bradley, Ruslan Provodnikov, Mikey Garcia and the list goes on and on. Televisa's track record of creating stars is just simply awful and that's why Sabados de Box is considered a laughing stock in comparison to Box Azteca.Comment

He is ruining what his father built in years with so much tears and pain!!! Chavez Sr has ever been respected by men like Sulaiman because he never turned his back to the people around him for any reason, Chavez Jr is not made by the same steel.Comment
