Comments Thread For: Pedro Guevara First Title Defense Set For April in Mexico

Despite not knowing the exact date, venue or opponent for his next fight, Pedro Guevara couldn’t be more excited to make the first defense of his junior flyweight title.

What is known is that his ring return is targeted for April in his home country of Mexico, with the fight to air live on Televisa. The bout will mark his first since winning the vacant junior flyweight belt with an impressive 9th round stoppage of former two-division champ Akira Yaegashi last New Year’s Eve on the road in Japan.

Good to hear, Pedrin is a good champion and I would love to see him against the best names at 108. I heard they were trying to get him to return to Japan later on this year.

Anyway good read except for one thing... Guevara stopped Yaegashi in the 7th, not the 9th. Roman was the one who stopped him in 9 in Akira's previous fight.
