Glass jaw and bum used too frequently?

Whenever a fighter gets knocked down a couple of times he has chin issues even if it's not strictly on the chin and when fighters have one loss they're exposed/a bum. In the UFC the best fight each other and the greats have losses. And people wonder why boxers are reluctant to take high risk fights ... Rigondeaux

People take things to such an extreme on this site.

Every fighter is either an unskilled hobo who couldn't punch through a wet paper bag and could be ko'd by a light breeze or they are on par with ATGs, can hit hard enough to send you on a space exploration, and have a chin that could withstand the impact of a plane crashing into it.

No one is ever just a good fighter, like Martin Murray since I am on the topic. He is not some out of this world talent but just an above average fighter who you could have to be pretty damn skilled and talented to convincingly beat.

Yes, everything has to be black or white now. You either have an iron jaw or a glass jaw, when the truth is that almost every fighter fit somewhere in between. And any undefeated fighter who loses is automatically labeled a hype job. If one contender/champion didn't fight another one from the same era, somebody has to be guilty of ducking. Never mind the countless reasons why some fights are never made.

This is the world we live in now.

I agree with you. Many are too quick to label a fighter a bum even if he is a world champion. Canelo has never been knocked down in almost 50 fights but many say he has a week chin because Cotto's hard hitting brother buckled his knees when he was a 19 year old. Canelo shook it off and knocked Cotto's brother out but to some he has a permanent glass jaw. He doesn't of course.

Yet Rigondeaux is too scared to move up and fight a high risk fight like against Lomachenko or Walters.
