Then why won't Floyd sign the damn contract?

No doubt CBS/Showtime wants it. Mayweather only has two fights left on his contract. If Mayweather becomes a free agent and Pacman is still signed to HBO then there's little doubt what happens: Showtime gets shut out of the deal. It's now or never for CBS / Showtime.

Like I said, "many fans are still confused."

          November 23, 2014:

The man who helped coordinate the first of what fight fans hope will be further fruitful sessions identified himself Sunday.

          He’s Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach.

After Pacquiao’s six-knockdown Sunday conquest of Chris Algieri added fuel to the flame of reignited talks to stage the long-evasive super-fight, Roach told reporters he brokered a meeting earlier this year between Pacquiao promoter/fight-maker Bob Arum and CBS Corp. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves.

Roach explained that he and Moonves have a mutual acquaintance in Los Angeles, a waiter at Craig's restaurant on Melrose that helped arrange the meeting...

Following a Pacquiao-Algieri worldwide publicity tour, Roach said he urged Moonves to meet with Arum at the promoter’s Beverly Hills home.

“They didn’t like each other,” Roach said of a strain that dated to Pacquiao’s return to HBO after fighting one bout on Showtime in 2011. “Bob promised [Moonves] three fights … and only gave him one. … [Moonves] actually told me, ‘I’m not dealing with the devil.’ ”

“I kind of sneakily put them together, about four months ago. I knew it was risky. … [Moonves] wanted to make the fight without Bob and I said, ‘That’s not going to happen, you’ve got to bring him in.’ They walked out of that meeting with their arms around each other, happy.”

The 2 networks still have to figure out how to work together, and that is what is holding up the fight. Once they resolve their issues a contract will be written for both guys to sign.

I'm not as easily convinced, I still say Floyd is trying to weasel his way out of it in an attempt to find an easier opponent, this would be the smarter business decision.

You guys have got to be kidding me, you honestly think Floyd is going to fight pacquiao when he's so close to 50-0. It's not happening

Maybe the problem is there just isn't enough public interest in the fight.

same reason paquaio has not signed yet!!! their is no contract to sign!! there are way to many hands in the cookie jar!!

2 networks H.B.O. and showtime and we all know showtime is committed to 30 million to Floyd on a minimum...

I don't see from a business standpoint how this is going to work!!!

again to many hands in the cookie jar!!!

I don't know if you are being serious or not, but Floyd stated that there was no contract. And I get it, there are many people who don't believe him and me being a fan of Floyd was wondering the same thing since it appeared that PAC's side where the aggressors in the negotiations, but then Koncz said there was no contract, then Arum of all people came out and said there was no contract, then someone else said there was no contract and then PAC said there was no contract. All of these statements are in articles from this site.

The fight is most likely going to happen. I wish it would of happened at least 3 years ago, if not 4 or 5 years ago. Whoever wins this doesn't really prove who was the best 5 years ago when they were in their prime. This fight will only prove who was the best after their primes. Prime example is when Roy Jones Jr. beat Bernard Hopkins years ago. Jr. was just better at his prime than Hopkins was, but in their most recent fight a few years ago, Hopkins was light years better than Jr.

So right now, this fight does not do as much for me as it would have a few years ago, but I'm still going to have my fight party with about 50 - 70 people at my house and we're going to have a good time, but of the 10% to 15% of the people that'll be at my fight party who are real fight fans, knows that this fight is waaaay too late. Many will blame Floyd and his team, some will blame PAC and his team, but I blame both.
