  • Comments Thread For: Roach: Mayweather, Pacquiao, Arum, Moonves Want It

According to Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, everyone involved in the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao negotiations is pushing for the fight to happen on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The positive showing from all sides is what motivated Roach to begin scouting for sparring partners and putting together a training schedule for Pacquiao.

In the past, Roach has questioned Mayweather's desire to face Pacquiao. That is no longer the case. Roach is now convinced Mayweather wants the fight, and he says CBS CEO Les Moonves, who has Mayweather under an exclusive contract, is making the biggest push of all for a May 2 pay-per-view explosion.

There are still many fans who are confused. Freddie didn't bring in Moonves to pressure Floyd. He brought in Moonves to pressure Arum. Arum is doing his best to stick to the script because he knows that he is done already, without Haymon and Showtime, and if he ****s up this deal for HBO, he's done! This fight will happen!

Freddie didn't bring anyone in, he's a trainer. Arum went to Moonves.

No, Roach brokered a meeting between Moonves and Arum. Moonves wasn't keen on working with Arum after Arum lied to him about Pacquiao's Showtime deal for the Mosley fight.
