Comments Thread For: NSAC Approves Electronic Scoring System On Trial Basis

The use of Judges Scoring System (JSS) will finally begin to expand, even if only in an experimental capacity. The Nevada State Athletic Commission approved usage of the electronic scoring system on a trial basis, with the five-panel board passing a motion during its monthly agenda hearing held Tuesday in Las Vegas.

A presentation by the Mohegan Tribal Government was held during Tuesday’s agenda hearing. The Mohegan Tribal Government oversees all boxing events held at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn., the first venue to roll out the program, which was introduced last spring.

how about scoring the fight in slomo replay after the fight instead of using judges who make human error or take bribes time and time again? at least in the big title fights..i was listening to the boxing voice today and some guy brought it up..i thought it was brilliant

floydchino was closer for me on replay
and i thought bradley beat pac in the rematch on replay
lara surely beat canelo live and on replay imo

the best thing to do is slomo replay after the fight and give the decision the next day..
a 4 juding points can be judged in that fashion just like they can be in person

Boxing scoring is always going to be flawed and there will rarely be a consensus on winners/losers. All you can do is enjoy the fights and hope for good matchups.

The WBO does rescores fights with a panel of 5 judges and it still doesn't work.

Boxing scoring will never be perfect.
