It puts him wherever Haymon wants him. I'm not sure Maidana would want it. I still doubt Thurman gets much of a push until 2016. And no, he won't be fighting Floyd.
It would make a him a player at welter by beating a game boxer in Guerrero. At least he's a decent durable opponent and will add a good name to his resume. He should be able to get some top quality fights if he wins
It depends how - if he wants to make an impression, I think he needs to get a stoppage. Guerrero took a lot of punches in his last fight...he has become a tough bastard at ww but I think he's there for the taking. But, if he gets dragged into a Guerrero type scrap and gets touched all night then he'll have to take a step back( fight another guy on that level) in the middle or 2nd half of the year
