We know why Haymon did what he did in 2014. We also know he has been a successful businessman who isn't going to conduct things in a way that would hurt his bottom line.

We also know that there is a specific way fighters are developed from the beginning and groomed into PPV attractions. Why would we expect Haymon to deviate from this. All I'm saying is its too early for you to be complaining.

If Haymon was who you said its safe to say he'd get much less criticism. We'd be reading about "tough style matchup" and "well he's ranked #5" even though the opponents had a less than 20% chance of winning the fight.
Yeah, I overreacted. One good fight with 150 fighters in your roster is something to be proud of. We really should expect ZERO with Haymon. Haymon was a successful businessmen? Is that why he was sued for stealing from Beyonce? That's what qualifies as you great businessman, being sued for theft?

Haymon's been babying fighters their whole careers and his best promoted fighter is one he never even built. He's never built a PPV star, yet, Arum and company have been doing it being only on HBO exposure. To me, there's is no comparison on who the best promoter and businessmen is. So far all I've seen Haymon do is get run off of HBO, make no matches on Showtime and his 3 most popular fighters Danny, Broner and Leo are undefeated and p*ssies who won't fight anyone and Broner fights people but he sucks.

Haymon's "good business" has been spending a whole bunch of other peoples money with no payoff. We have to wait and see how that turns out, bump this in 2 years when boxing is back on HBO and Showtime only.

Maybe you should take that viewpoint as opposed to "You got this doe, be happy with what you get." I can't imagine if Al Haymon was known as Albert Haymongoldmanstein and was white. EVERYONE would be ****ting all over his matchups as they should be doing right now.
you're complaining about a fight being 143 vs 140. Who gives a ****, its a good fight on paper regardless of the weight.

It will take a while for the PBC to build up a library of content that the UFC had when they made the FOX deal..and the PBC still has to show that it can garner the kind of audiences the UFC can, especially among 18-34 year old males that drive the UFC ratings and that get sponsors involved.
How did that Fox deal work out for UFC publicity? They've never had a worse in year in their history. People aren't going to pay for PPV when fights are on free TV...

Casual fans don't know jack **** about boxing, none. If you put the GGG/Ward on PPV and Garcia/Peterson on free TV, the casual isn't paying for the good fight because they think it's all the same. UFC has this same problem because I'm casual UFC fan, very casual. If its on FOX I'll watch, but I'm not paying for even a Silva/GSP event simply because it's on free TV even though I know the quality of fighter is much better.

Putting boxing on TV will do nothing for Floyds PPV buys... Haymon thinks it will apparently. It'd done nothing to help UFC and in fact, may have hurt the brand.

I'll be watching these shows for sure, they should be a good appetizer before the HBO cards at night.

As far as being able to sustain this transition for Al, my only question is that normally sports aired during the day on Saturdays,Sundays not being football have weak ratings.

NBA sundays on abc are ok but don't do the numbers it will once the playoffs start in spring. For the love of the sport, I hope this doesn't fail.

Also for.people saying that this is the start of HBO demise in the fight game.. as long as HBO ponies up the $$$$ boxers will continue to follow them. HBO is the one and only true tested network for boxingx its.here to stay.

Haymon knows things I don't, I have to admit that. There are people that have no problem with 2 guys in the same weight class, both with titles, fighting not at JWW where they are champions, but at WW where neither one of them are.

The weight has nothing to do with it except for the titles not being on the line. People are ****ting all over Cotto/Bradley for the MW title, if that were to happen and rightfully so. If they fought at 150 for no belt, I would agree with your Danny/Lamont comment.

The difference is Cotto and Bradley aren't in the same weightclass. They both aren't champions and they both aren't fighting to NOT lose their titles. They're fighting for literally no reason at all except that if they lose, they still really didn't lose anything.

So being sued means you're bad. Come on Beater.

Yes, Arum is the far more experienced promoter. But Haymon is making promoter's obsolete. Instead of paying Bob 25%, you can pay Al 10% and use social media to promote.

Danny and Broner had good fights last year. What you are doing is frankly, well I wont use the word-but you are criticizing prematurely Al haymon managed fighters for something GGG is doing right now. Cotto isn't fighting GGG or Canelo next, his 2 best opponents. Where is the anger?

You seem very invested in this not working. But yeah, we can look back and see what happened.

Incredible. Suddenly boxing is all over 'regular' tv. Haymon has a vision, hopefully it's a long term thing.
