I can see why KOvalev didn't wanna spar with GGG. They would just be taking years off their lives/boxing career going to war with each other without the paycheck.

GGG is too good to go light against and if you go hard on him he will most likely land bombs on you and it becomes a war.

Kovalev said he wasn't in training at that point whereas GGG was about to fight and that they sparred on another occasion and went hell for leather.

Regardless, I doubt the smaller GGG takes too many flush Kovalev shots at 175 whereas we've seen multiple MWs take Golovkin's punches for multiple rounds.
