Undefeated super bantamweight puncher Rey Vargas (23-0, 20KOs) is very close to a mandatory shot at WBC champion Leo Santa Cruz (29-0-1, 17KOs). Vargas, 24-years-old, is calling for an all-Mexican showdown.
Vargas has stopped his last five opponents, including all four of his opponents in 2014. Already scoring a two round knockout in January, the young boxer plans to be just as busy in 2015.
But his Hall of Fame trainer, Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, says his boxer needs a little more seasoning before a showdown of that nature.
