But how does he get on against the best fighter of this generation, Manny Pacquiao.

The fights to gauge both of these fighters in this fantasy match up are Pacquiao vs Cotto and Hearns vs Leonard I

Pacquiao was at his best in this fight, and Hearns was in his prime as a welter and weighed in at 145lbs for the bout.

It would be a great fight both having the power to take each other out. But Pacquiao would have the advantages in speed and footwork. Tommy also kept his right low and was open to the left hook. Hearns's jab would not have been as effective against the southpaw. And when Hearns was hurt he was hurt for a long time and Pacquiao is a great finisher.

I think for the first few rounds Pacquiao uses his speed and footwork and just tries to land his punches against Hearns staying away from a dog fight. But as Hearns tires, and that right hand drops, Pacquiao begins to land the left with more gusto and hurts Tommy. Then Pacquiao will bring it and Hearns will not last much longer after than that.

    Pacquiao by RD 8 KO
Hearns is too big too long to not be able to prevail in this fantasy match up. I'd say it woul d be 67-33% in favour of Hit man. Pacquiao could be able to warm Hearns like Leonard did but you'd have to favour him.

Pacquaio couldn't knock out Algieri, so I don't think he could knock out Hearns.

Hearns has poor survival instincts when hurt, his brain get scrambled.

Pacquiao is excellent at controlling the distance and has done well against tall guys with long reaches with his in and out style.

Hearns's footwork would be a clear 2nd best.

Yeah, but you have to land on Hearns to hurt him. Meaningful punches. Pac is too small -- and at this point too conservative, and too concentrated on politics and hobbies to really deliver.

Pac is the complete package. It would be hard for anyone in history to beat him. Marquez who had the antidote style took 4 tries and science to do it.

Pac KO1. Hearns just didn't have the size or power to even bother the naturally larger Pacquiao.
