  • Comments Thread For: McGuigan: Tyson Fury Has Ability, But Vulnerable Chin

Manager and former champion Barry McGuigan gave high marks to heavyweight Tyson Fury (23-0, 17KOs) for his ability in the ring, but also raised some concerns. He sees cracks in Fury's armor when it comes to his chin and his mental state.

McGuigan also downplays Fury's claim of being a very deadly puncher at the weight. Based on Fury's performances, he is not a one-punch knockout artist. He tends to break opponents down and wear them out.

To be fair at heavy weight if anyone gets hit flush they are gonna feel it

Wlad's chins suspect but it hasn't stopped him getting to the top

Wilders chins got questions over it too .

We know one thing Tyson can knocked down and get back up to win

Its gotta be said that even though Cunningham is no big puncher, the shot he dropped Fury with was a corker and it was right on the button, thrown with great speed and accuracy. Any 200+ fighter can knock out anyone if they land the right shot. Plenty of heavies would have been stopped by that punch.

plus tyson handled it well, you could see his senses were about him very quickly and he rose in a measured way

The only problem with Fury's chin is that he sometimes gives his opponents a free shot at it. If he was chinny, he would have been stopped by now.

My question is about Fury's flabby gut. How punch proof is it once an opponent targets Tyson's less than chiseled body?

It in fact landed towards the top of furys head, not on his chin.

Hence the reason he has been so carefully matched, yet even then it nearly all came undone against feather fisted USS and Pajkic. I remember the facial expressions he made when Abell was connecting with his punches, Fury looked visibly shook, the expressions were comical.

Hopefully he does not duck Wlad for Wilder, I can not wait to see Wlad flatten his dumb ass, it won't be as satisfying if Wilder has already knocked him out.

The guy is not really professional in his approach to the game, his appearance within the ring has been shocking at times, those huge love handles he sports are comical though.

Fury was playing with Joey Abel. He was never hurt in that fight.

And don't worry about Wilder knocking Fury out before he fights Wlad.

Wilder won't fight Fury, and if he did, Deontay would be the one who got KO'd.

They have already started so get ready for the 1001 excuses on why Fury has looked vulnerable as hell against rather lame and weak opponents.
