Look at the age of both fighters for God sakes. That fight should have happened when they both were in their primes. You see how these forums are not getting as many comments as they did years ago, about the same subject (the never-happening fight), because people seem already tired of so much speculation and drama. It is not a soap opera, it is simply a fight that NEEDS TO BE DONE THIS YEAR.

Even though those two are the biggest stars of this era --although, personally, I despise a 100% defensive style such as Mayweather's, and just can't figure out why he gets such a huge audience for his mostly boring fights--, their time is almost up. Look at what happened to Mosley and, more recently, Hopkins. No top boxer stays on top of their game forever. If this fight doesn't happen this year, people should just forget about it and start focusing on the new blood in the sport.

What kind of boxing fan doesn't wasn't to see the biggest fight out there come together and continues make excuses for scared fighters and scumbag promoters.
There is no question that these days in boxing the promoters protecting their fighters are the enemy of the consumer/fan.

The networks (HBO/Showtime) can call the shots and demand whatever fights they want. Without their pay per view exposure. The promoters have nothing.

I'm a fan of Thurman, should be a star if he plays his cards right and he's 100% right. The back lash from no Manny fight on May 2nd will be the destruction of Mayweather's drawing power, tranferred to Manny.

I blame all that on showtime!! for guaranteeing a spineless, selfish convict so much money to take on weak opposition! Basing in it on self proclaimed "biggest boxing draw".. yet they turn around after guerrero and say "we're not disclosing mayweather's ppv buys".. to save face.. only reason why they disclosed Canelo's... was because it did GREAT because of Canelo!!! and the Mexican following.. not mayweather..

Pac has the same issues.. Fought the draws.. yet!! he's a just a more exciting fighter.. drama.. and action.. But I was surprised he did 900k vs Bradley 2.. WITH NO UNDERCARD.. cause the bobfather (idiot with business skills) says "nobody cares for the undercard"..

We as the public should demand best vs best.. not be brain washed (flomo's and pactard's) into "this is the next best option" and buy that crap..

I agree with your post. But not so much with your Avatar pic lol. You show Pacquiao lying on the canvas after Marquez Ko's him. That's fine, but why don't you also add some pics of Marquez on the floor five times after Manny punched him? Just joking here, both Manny and Marquez are great, super-skilled and entertaining fighters who never run away, clinch or do tricks while fighting, so they both deserve my respect and admiration, even though I still think Manny is by far the most entertaining fighter of this era.
