    Does speed really kill?

I mean if you look at guys like Manny Pacquaio, Amir Khan, Rigondeux, Mayweather and I could go on for ages. They all have enough pop to push you back? If they had speed alone without any power, their opponents would just walk them down just like Pac Algieri. Is power the real equaliser in boxing as guys have won fights with power alone. Andy Lee for example beat Jackson and Koborov because of KO power.

Speed does kill. But there needs to be authority, not necessarily power behind those shots. There is obviously plenty more to a great boxer but addressing your initial points...

It is just a saying man...Speed without timing is like being able to jump high with no skills

Roy Jones comes to mind. He's the fastest fighter ever. But he actually wasn't a huge puncher (ask his sparring partners). His insane speed and, like a previous poster mentioned, his authority were what got him those knockdowns. He would practically leap up and into his punches.

Imo it's a combination of speed and power.

Khan is what speed looks like, Pacquiao is what speed + power looks like.

Speed + power without defense = KTFO

Both Khan and Pacman are examples.
