If they go through with this fight it could potentially backfire and off track Cotto from any decent paydays in the near future... Which would really suck because I'm itching for Cotto vs Alvarez.

I think this would be a good fight, don't see why people are already counting out Cotto.

I wonder how well a fight of this magnitude would sell in Florida. Seriously, his could be the opportunity that Cuban boxing fans and fighters alike have been waiting for..

If you were any kind of boxing fan rather than a Cotto fan boy you'd be upset too that we didn't get Canelo/Cotto and instead might see Cotto vs Lara.

Actually Cotto vs GGG. A real boxing fan wouldn't approve of Cotto making title defenses against fighters in lower divisions at catchweights.

The Trout and Mayweather fights are the main reason Cotto is getting counted out in this fight.

Canelo was given a ****-load of credit for taking on Lara. Same should be applied to Cotto. A controversial loss to Canelo shouldnt deminish Lara as a tough, worthy opponent. Interesting how the same fans applauding Alvarez' ballsy decision to take on Lara are now ****ting on Cotto.

What an absolute joke if true. The problems with boxing continue.....

A career 154lber getting a shot at the "lineal title," because Cotto doesn't want to man the hell up and fight the most deserving challenger/unify.

He's old/doesn't have to fight anymore/too small for 160/needs to retire? Then drop the damn WBC title and don't hold the WBC belt hostage.
