A few thoughts on cotto-Bradley


1. Arum signed Bradley to big money guarantees for his fights, reportedly 2mil at least per fight.. Bradley isn't a big enough draw to command that money vs a soft touch, so arum is forced to cash out Bradley on other name fighters... Arums knows he can justify the money paid to Bradley for fights like cotto, rios, ruslan 2... Those are the fights I expect to see Bradley in for 2mil a fight.. He isn't a guy like chavez jr that commands millions vs soft touch opponents..

2. I knew when arum mentioned this fight last fall as a possible December opponent for cotto, that it was only a matter of time before it got made..

3. Cotto will wreck Bradley... Bradley doesn't have the power to keep cotto honest and cotto will slowly break him down and overwhelm Bradley... Strong possibilty of cotto stopping Bradley

4. Cotto has nothing to gain except for the payday, and he will look like a million bucks greatly enhancing his price for Canelo or floyd 2..

5. Bradley has nothing to lose.. He will get paid, get a chance for a huge win up in weight, and even if he loses badly, he can still go back to welter and get paid vs khan, Ruslan 2, rios, etc

I like this fight only at 154 or lower and obviously not for the MW belt. Technically 155-160 is considered middleweight? 160 is just the limit, not where fighters need to fight at. However, this fight for the MW title is trash and I wouldn't want to see it.

Bradley does not at all have the frame to be fighting above 147. He's 5''6 and already quite heavily muscled at 140/47. No need for him to move up further.

Joke of a fight. How is it a catchweight when Cotto weighs in at 155 for his 160 fights? Seems more of a disadvantage for Bradley having to move up an additional 8 pounds.
