Brook has one win in his entire career and is not known by anyone outside the UK. I think that's Khan's point.

Marquez got asked about Kell Brook when he was in the UK a couple weeks ago and he had no idea who he was. I don't even think they mentioned him to Pacquiao when he was over.



If he wanted money, he'd fight Brook. He just wants to fight a big name.

That's obviously not true. He was the main fight on a card including Figueroa/Linares - Dirrell/Bika & Deontay Wilder. Not to mention Shawn Porter who had beaten two well known guys.

Oh, and Marquez was ringside for the fight and has commented on Brook multiple times since the fight.

But I'm sure he doesn't know him.

He was a showcase opponent for Shawn Porter. No one knew who he was or expected him to win and no one really watched the fight.

Marquez was asked about Khan-Brook by IFL last week and he started talking about Khan-Pacquaio. He would probably need to be reminded who Brook is.

Not really. In fact, all the pundits like Al Bernstein and Malignaggi were saying Brook was a tough cat. Paulie and Devon - Porter's last two opponents even picked Brook to win, even if they were alone.

Marquez was clearly playing to the crowd. He and his trainer has been talking about Brook in the last couple of months. They clearly know him.
